Getting on the water with your family! Most of our time in our regular lives is spent on land and most of that is probably inside. Getting outside is just the beginning of connecting with nature. Getting outside in a city is different than being out on a beautiful trail. Here in the resort area of Virginia Beach we have a beautiful inlet and an amazing state park nearby. Getting in a kayak on the water with your family is a perfect way to really begin reconnecting to the nature around you while getting a feeling of adventure. It's not everyday you are paddling a kayak on the water with your friends and family. Once we begin stroking away from the docks and mingling with the ecosystem and wildlife that's when you're living in the moment. There's no past and no future just the beautiful scenery and the feeling of connection to the nature that you're a part of. On our kayak tours we like to see as much as possible. We will do our best to put you in the best spot to see Bald Eagles, dolphins, osprey, various diving ducks, pelicans and even the occasional sea turtle! There's nothing like seeing dolphins up close on one of our guided kayak dolphin tours. The Bald eagles are awesome too especially when they are soaring and fishing. Getting outside when you're on vacation in Virginia Beach is one thing but having an adventurous experience and connecting with nature while kayaking is another! We are passionate about nature and about people. We love to share our passions and nature with you! Let's make some lifetime memories kayaking in Virginia Beach!

Kayaking in Virginia Beach is one of the best things to do!When I meet new people from different parts of the country not everyone has been in the ocean before. I meet many people that have never been in a kayak before either. I also meet people that have never been to Virginia Beach before. I think it is so awesome when I meet someone who is all three of those things! I meet several people each year that have never been kayaking, never been to Virginia Beach and have never been in the ocean. Talk about making a lifetime memory! It is such a rewarding feeling to be a part of a memory like that for someone. Sometimes they may even be a little nervous but want to try something new and step out of their comfort zone just a little. I love giving someone the confidence and faith to try something new like kayaking in the ocean. I know how exciting that is for them. Then when we are on a dolphin tour and the dolphins come swimming up next to the kayak it's truly a magical moment. Our kayak dolphin tour has brought so many magical moments to families vacation in Virginia Beach. It means so much to us to share those times with you. Let's go Dolphin watching in Virginia Beach!
Bald Eagles are huge!Bald Eagles are seen often on our kayak tours. There are a pair of adults and a couple of juveniles that live in the trees in Rudee inlet. On our guided kayak tours we always try to take you to where the eagles are known to be. We see the eagles very frequently and sometimes get an airshow! There were many kayak tours last summer where our group would paddle right up underneath the tree that the adults are standing in. Until you get really close to a Bald Eagle it's hard to imagine just how huge they are. The females are larger than the males. The female is close to 36 inches tall with a wingspan of over 6 feet! They are very precise fishing birds and on many of our tours we would have the honor of watching them hunt fish. There were many tours when I can recall seeing the Eagle leap from its perch and fly out over the inlet with a purpose. It would fly straight and then turn and swoop very low to the water with its large yellow talons outstretched and strike the water with force. Sometimes it would have the fish and other times it would take a few passes. I like when it takes more than once because it is fascinating to watch. We have had the great pleasure on our guided kayak tours of seeing this aerial display happen within 50 feet of our boats! It is a memorable experience.
Dolphin Watching while kayaking in Virginia BeachDolphin watching while kayaking can be one of the most memorable moments of a vacation in Virginia Beach. One particular memory from last summer while on a kayak dolphin tour was on a beautiful hot July afternoon. Our group was just outside the Rudee inlet in the Atlantic ocean enjoying the amazing views and the feeling of the nature all around us while waiting for a pod of dolphins to come by. Just relaxing in the kayaks out in the ocean on a calm day is amazing by itself. After about 15 minutes we spot a pod of dolphins approaching from the South about 500 yards out. The excitement and anticipation of watching them get closer and closer to us was amazing. They quickly get right next to our kayaks and are feeding on a large school of fish. The dolphins are circling and surfacing within a few feet of our kayaks. The sound of the blowhole is loud and comes unexpectedly giving us a fun startle! The dolphins fed on the school of fish while slapping their tails against the water for about 30 minutes and other pods joined in as well. They swam so close you could see their eyes! It was a truly magical experience watching these majestic creatures.
